  • This is just plain dumb. It amounts to another subsidy. We taxpayers get to pay for our government to do what Mexico agreed to do when they negotiated the right to ship to the U.S.. Inspect the product when it hits the border. If it's contaminated, send it back.

  • I'm glad that the land will no longer be in the hands of the sugar industry. But, don't believe that the state of Florida does not have their motives. They already say that the land has been modified too much to restore to its natural state. They wouldn't do that anyway.

  • Unless there are some huge "unknown" factors at play here, I see no way that the ranch owners will let the property go for the estimated value. The trade-offs that are probably being discussed behind the scenes will dampen public enthusiasm for the deal.

  • Unfortunately, the recent flooding in the mid-west will cause more shortages of products used to produce the feeds used by these fish farmers. The resulting higher prices will be reflected by higher prices at the market.
